Venue
The conference will take place at the Main Building of the Czech Academy of Sciences on Narodní Street (Národní 3/110 00, 110 00 Staré Město).
The venue is easily accessible by public transport. The tram stop 'Národní divadlo' for lines 2, 9, 17, 18 and 22 is just outside the building. The metro station 'Národní třída' (Line B – Yellow) is also only a short walk from the venue.
Excursion
We have organised two excursions for you for Saturday 5th September, with a maximum of 45 participants per excursion. Please register for the conference HERE via Google Forms – once 45 people have registered for an excursion, the option will no longer be visible.
Payment for the excursions will be made in cash or by card on the day of registration (Wednesday 2nd September). If you are planning to arrive later, please let us know so that we can be ready for you.
No. 1: TO KONOPIŠTĚ CASTLE
- up to 45 participants
- transport by coach
- departure at 10:00 from Prague
- arrival at Konopiště around 12:15
- guided castle tours at 13:00 and 13:10 (two groups of up to 25 participants each); tour route: Apartments of the south wing of the castle (1st tour)
- after the guided tour, participants may individually go for lunch, or visit the extensive castle park (free of charge), or the Rose Garden Greenhouses (entry fee CZK 100 per person)
- departure from Konopiště at 16:00
- return to Prague in the afternoon
- participation fee: EUR 30 per person
No. 2: PRAGUE – HISTORICAL CENTRE
- up to 45 people (possible use of headphones)
- with official licensed guide Lenka Jerie in English
- a walk from the Old Town Square to the Prague Castle, following the Royal Route – taken by a coronation procession for the coronation of the Bohemian Rulers
- takes about three hours
- participation fee: EUR 20 per person

Unfortunately, we cannot offer the participants any discounted accommodation. However, we have prepared some tips:
Hotel Bookquet
A hotel in the heart of the Old Town close to the venue.
Hotel U Medvídků
A historic hotel, restaurant and brewery located near the metro station Národní třída and the venue.
Hotel Adler
A four-star hotel in the city centre, just two minutes from Národní třída.
Hotel Giovanni
A four-star hotel located near the metro station Želivského (Line A – green), easily accessible from the city centre.
Hotel Rott
A four-star hotel located on the Little Square (next to the Old Town Square), near the metro station Staroměstská (Line A – green) and the tram stop for the lines 2, 17 and 18. Not far away from the venue on foot.
Hotel Merkur
A four-star hotel located near the metro station Florenc (Line B – yellow).
Public Transport from the Airport and Main Train/Bus Station
From the Airport:
Take the Bus 59 from the bus stop Terminal 1 (flights outside the EU) or Terminal 2 (flights inside the EU) to Nádraží Veleslavín, then change to the metro Line A – green in the direction of Depo Hostivař/Skalka. From this line, you can transfer both to the the Line B – yellow (at the Můstek station) and Line C – red (at the Muzeum station) to reach your accomodation.
From the Main Bus Station (Florenc):
The bus station is located at the Florenc metro station (both Line C – red and Line B – yellow). You can transfer to Line A by taking Line C in the direction of Háje and changing at the Muzeum station.
From the Main Train Station (Hlavní nádraží):
The main train station is located at the Hlavní nádraží metro station (Line C – red). You can transfer to the Line B by heading in the direction of Letňany and then transferring at the Florence station. You can transfer to the Line A by heading in the direction Háje and transferring at the Muzeum station.
Before using public transport in Prague, you need to buy a ticket and validate it. From the moment of validation, you can use all means of public transport with unlimited transfers, you just have to watch the time stated on the ticket itself.
You can buy a 90-minute ticket for 50 CZK (sufficient for getting from the airport/train or bus station to your accommodation), a 24-hour ticket for 150 CZK, or a 72-hour ticket for 350 CZK. These tickets must be validated before getting to the metro station (validation machines are usually located at the top of the escalators) or as soon as you board a bus/tram.

Please note that the Czech Republic still uses its own currency, the Czech crown, instead of the euro. You can, of course, pay by card, or exchange money on the spot, either at the airport or at any reliable currency exchange office (such as the one at Štefánikova 203/23, Praha 5 – Smíchov).
