The project The History of the Ringhoffer Company will be aimed at investigating the birth, development and operation of the Ringhoffers family company in the years 1848–1945, within the conception of the business history. The primary goal is to establish a self-contained synthesis compared to the contemporary methodological knowledge of the German and Austrian historiography. Thus, an analysis of the process of the birth, development and operation of the Ringhoffers family company will be created at several levels:the reasons of the formation of the company, the economic development of the company, the history of the Ringhoffer family, and the family bonds to other entrepreneurial families will be analysed. Last but not least, the activities of the Ringhoffers family company with those of other companies within the European space such as the Krupps and the Borsigs will be compared. A monograph summarizing research results will be the main project output. Also, an international scientific conference and a specialists seminar will be organized within the project implementation.
