Academic Encyclopaedia of Czech History

The Academic Encyclopaedia of Czech History (AECH) is an extensive fifteen-volume publication summarizing the key conceptual apparatus and factography of the history of the Czech lands from their beginnings to the present day. The entries encompass the areas of culture, politics, science, foreign affairs, state and church administration, the ethnic and territorial evolution of the Czech lands, etc. It does not, however, include biographical entries, which are instead presented in the Biographical Lexicon of the Czech Lands, nor does it include historical-topographical entries, which are compiled in other lexicons. The aim of the project is to present the basic concepts of Czech history through the lens of modern historiography while also citing basic scientific literature and/or publication series and describing the various topics within their historical transformations.
