Bollettino dell’Istituto Storico Ceco di Roma

ISSN 1214-9438

The bulletin of the Czech Historical Institute in Rome is one of the periodicals published by the institutes of the International Union of Institutes of Archaeology History and Art History in Rome (Unione Internazionale degli Istituti di Archeologia, Storia e Storia dell’Arte in Roma). Bollettino dell’Istituto Storico Ceco di Roma has been published by the Czech Historical Institute in Rome under the auspices of the Institute of History of the Czech Academy of Sciences since 2000 in the spirit of Bollettino dell’Istituto Storico Cecoslovacco di Roma (1937, 1946). Bollettino is published in Italian biannually. It presents original studies based on research in Italian and Vatican archives and libraries (as well as related Czech and other European sources) in a chronological timeframe spanning from the Middle Ages to the twentieth century. It has an extensive review column focusing on literature on the history of relations between the Czech lands and Central Europe on the one hand, and Italy, the Vatican, and (especially) the papacy on the other. A news column presents, among other things, information on activities of the institute and the results of research conducted in Italian and Vatican archives and libraries. Bollettino is supplemented with two series: Biblioteca dell’Istituto Storico Ceco di Roma, which since 2012 has published monographs relating to this area of research; and Acta Romana Bohemica with complementary sources and studies.
