This book – on the basis of a study of a broad spectrum of archival sources and scholarly literature – attempts to demonstrate, using the example of inhabitants of Poland, Czechoslovakia's importance for various streams of migrations taking place after the Second World War. Thanks to its position Czechoslovakia became an importat transit region not only for hundreds of thousands Polish repatriates, but also for refugees. The book analyzes the position of Czechoslovak authorities regarding repatriation of Poles, and how they coped with the influx of refugees from Poland – mainly Jews.
