Inquiries in Czech Polish Studies: Tradition and Contemporaneity is a collective project, mainly undertaken by Czech philologists, historians, political scientists, and lawyers, all of whom professionally engage with Poland and Czech-Polish relations in a broad sense. The monograph simultaneously pursues several scholarly goals. This work follows in the footsteps of the rich tradition of Czech philological and historical research into Polish culture, and attempts to capture their current state and long term developmental trends. However, at the same time, the monograph also represents a unique attempt at a much wider conception of Czech Polish studies, which today, besides the above-mentioned traditional disciplines, also includes the areas of political science and law. We assume that this solution has enabled us to create a wider and more holistic picture of Poland and the possibilities or limitations of Czech-Polish cooperation from the perspective of Czech scholarship.
