Memoirs of the publisher and intellectual Vladimír Žikeš, leader of the JaR resistance group, an important subject of the Czechoslovak democratic resistance in Slovakia during World War II, with an emphasis on the Slovak National Uprising (SNU). Žikeš is one of the first, very strong critics of the official interpretation of the SNU, presented after 1948 by ideologues of the ruling Communist Party of Czechoslovakia. The author provided the memoirs with a historical introduction, her own text with editorial notes and a conclusion. For the first time, a complete bibliography of Vladimír Žikeš's publishing activities is also published.
