The individual contributions in this publication are focused on the political, national, cultural, religious and other aspects of Yugoslav development from the 1960s to the early 1990s, i.e. during the last quarter of a century of the unified state's existence. Their common denominator is a rich heuristic base, interpretive innovation and engaging interpretation, which allows even the hitherto less known or underemphasized aspects of the history of late socialist Yugoslavia to be revealed. The collective monograph is also published on the occasion of the anniversary of the significant life and work of Jan Pelikán, a leading expert on the history of Southeastern Europe and a long-time lecturer at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague. The authors of the studies are renowned experts, who not only repeatedly came into contact with the works of Jan Pelikán during their research activities, but also had the opportunity to collaborate with him professionally, to socialize with and befriend him. The publication also contains an extensive study on Jan Pelikán's publishing and professional activities, as well as a bibliographic list of his texts.
