Historical Geography

The journal Historical Geography introduces historical geography as a field boasting a broad range of topics, methods and resources. The journal monitors new subjects and prospects of historical-geographic research as well as the progress of current historical-geographic projects. It has been published since 1st January 1968. The approach to historical-geographic research and the contents of the Historical Geography journal have changed along with changes of modern science and its methods. In spite of that the journal remains faithful to several major topics: historical geography of settlements and citizens, economic historical geography, territorial development of the Bohemian Lands, physical-geographic historical geography, history of cartography, historical cartography, historical geography of culture and recently also environmental history. The specified fields are complemented with theoretical, methodological and terminological essays, results from selected bachelor, master or PhD. theses and other works.

Since the 30th volume (1999) the Historical Geography has been a reviewed journal; since 2008 it has been enlisted in the 'List of reviewed non-impacted periodicals published in the Czech Republic'. It also figures in the international database ERIH PLUS
