Born on December 2, 1952 in Prague, research worker in the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. She specialises in interdisciplinary fields of science on the boundary between geography and history, namely in historical geography, history of cartography and historical cartography. She also deals with the problem of the history of Czech towns and cities in the historically-geographic context and she attempts to integrate the historically-geographic procedures into historical processes. She administrates the Cartographic collection of the Institute of History of the AV ČR. She chairs the Committee for Historical Geography and she lectures historical geography at the Philosophical Faculty of Charles University in Prague, at the Faculty of Humanities of Pardubice University and at the College of Education at Hradec Králové University.

Born on March 23, 1971, research worker in the Institute of History of the AV ČR. He specialises in the aspects of the late-medieval Czech history and their development analogies in central Europe – especially administrative systems, aspects of self-reflection and representation of noblemen, typology of the lower nobility and prosopographic studies. In the editorial work he specialises in written documents of registration character from the 15th and the beginning of the 16th centuries; he has published several marginal studies dealing with the South-Bohemian regional history. He is a secretary of the Committee for Historical Geography and an executive editor of review Historická geografie

Born on December 1, 1946, research worker at the Institute of History of the AV ČR and Philosophical Faculty of Charles University. He specialises in the Czech medieval history with regard to development and structural changes of central and east-central Europe. He focuses on the questions of settlement including economic, social, ethnic and political impacts. He ranks among highly appreciated experts on the issues of the 10th – 13th centuries, especially the issues of public life formation, beginnings of nobility, medieval colonisation and establishment and development of towns. Prof. PhDr. Josef Žemlička, DrSc. is a secretary of the Committee for the History of Medieval Towns which exists within the Institute of History of AV ČR; he is an active member of the Centre of Medieval Studies of AV ČR and Charles University in Prague and he maintains and develops inter-disciplinary and international contacts (a member of the committee of the International Board for the History of Towns.
